We currently have job openings for a Project Architect Associate and a Full Time Production Associate.


Project Architect Associate

Michael Rex Architects, Ltd. is seeking a full time Project Architect to join our 8-member team; someone with a positive attitude, a desire to grow and develop their skills, and a willingness to produce detailed design and construction documents.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • 5-7 years of experience in Type-V design and construction detailing.

  • Experience working on high-end residential, historic, multi-unit housing, and hospitality.

  • Strong CAD production skills. ArchiCAD, SketchUp, and Photoshop preferred.

  • Skilled in coordinating project consultants. 

  • Working knowledge and understanding of the CBC, CRC, and ADA. 

  • Familiarity with Microsoft/Windows applications. 

  • Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communications.  

  • Thorough, organized, and able to stick to timelines. 

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. 

  • Ability to work well with others in an open office environment.

  • Live within a reasonable commute distance and able to work in the office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and from home Mondays and Fridays.

Production Associate

The Production Associate position includes working with the Principal and Project Architects from pre-design through construction by primarily providing production support. The Associate’s responsibilities include preparing design and construction documents, 3D CAD models, completing code studies, and researching products.

 Each member of the firm’s team contributes their voice to its culture in pursuit of better and more creative solutions. The Associate’s responsibilities may expand based on their initiative and ability.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Some education from an NAAB-accredited architecture program.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in an architectural firm.

  • Strong design skills and the ability to prepare architectural drawings, 3D models and renderings.

  • Live within a reasonable commute distance and able to work in the office Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Thursdays, and from home Mondays and Fridays.

  • Experience preparing construction documents and details, especially for Type-V construction.

  • Experience working on high-end residential, historic, multi-unit housing, and commercial projects.

  • Proficiency with CAD and rendering software. ArchiCAD, SketchUp, and Photoshop preferred.

  • Comfortable working in an open office environment.
